The new Eighth Street Hudson-Bergen Light Rail Station in Bayonne was vandalized between 5 p.m. Tuesday and 6:30 a.m. Wednesday, police reports say, according to today's Jersey Journal.The station is set to open in a few months.
Workers with George Harms Construction and Pantaleo Electric Inc. reported that when they arrived at work Wednesday morning, they found the word "Ones" scrawled in black caulk on the new station's murals, windows and elevators. There was also purple paint splattered on the the walls and ceilings, police said.
It was also reported that a vehicle belonging to Pantaleo Electric was broken into. Hand tools valued at $200 were stolen from the vehicle, police said.
