The Jersey Journal has compiled of a list of Hudson County municipalities that have announced their plans for September 11 memorial services. If an event is missing or there are updates to an existing one, please e-mail brett.jjournal@gmail.com.
Here is the rundown:
- Jersey City will hold its annual "Reflections" ceremony on Grand Street at the waterfront at 8 a.m. There will be music and special guest speakers to honor the victims of 9/11.
- The Hudson Media Group will enter the 2010 inductees onto the Circle of Honor memorial in Journal Square at 5 p.m.
- West New York will hold a service to honor its residents who perished on 9/11. The families are expected to speak. It will take place at 60th Street and Boulevard East by the fountain at 8:40 a.m. All are welcome to attend.
- Hoboken will hold an interfaith memorial service at 4 p.m. in Pier A Park. Additionally, Our Lady of Grace Church at 400 Willow Ave. is holding a mass to honor the lives lost that day. It will take place at 10:30 am on Sunday and there will be a special blessing.
- Guttenberg will perform a ceremony in front of the Municipal Building on Park Avenue to honor the lives lost on 9/11. The families of the victims will speak and a candlelight vigil will be held.
- Secaucus will hold a ceremony in front of the Secaucus Public Library and Business Resource Center on Paterson Plank Road. The names of the community members who died on 9/11 will be read, and light refreshments will be offered inside the library where information on the events of 9/11 will be displayed.
- Bayonne will hold a candlelight vigil and interfaith memorial service at 7 p.m. at the 9/11 memorial in Harbor View Park. A shuttle bus service to the ceremony will run from 23rd Street and Del Monte Drive until 6:30 p.m.
